The 87th Annual Oakland City Golf Championship
The Oakland City Golf Championship is just around the corner. This event dates back to the 1920's when Lake Chabot Golf Course opened it's doors for the first time. In 1953, San Leandro native, and British Open Champion, Tony Lema, won this event as an Amateur. And we have the trophy to prove it! Play in the Championship Scratch Flight and you too can have your name of this trophy and mark your place in history. This is an NCGA Player Point Tournament.
Congratulations to Jeff Murphy, the 2009 Oakland City Champion, Peter Moren, Senior Oakland City Champion, John Doyle, Net Oakland City Champion, and Denise Kam, Women's Net Oakland City Champion.
Thank you all for playing!

Lake Chabot Golf Course
Lake Chabot Golf Course, The Bay Area’s Best Golf Value
Situated in the Oakland Hills with stunning panoramic views of the City of Oakland, Bay Bridge and Lake Chabot area, the City of Oakland’s Lake Chabot Golf Course offers an unbeatable combination: 27 pristine holes of golf for players of all skill levels, at affordable rates that make the game accessible to everyone. A favorite of local golfers since 1923, the course recently completed extensive course and property improvements that have taken the course to the next level. Comprehensive re-seeding, fertilization and improved irrigation have significantly improved course conditioning and playability, while a complete remodeling of the property’s historic Spanish-style clubhouse – including an upgrade to the Chabot Café and enhanced banquet and catering capabilities – make it the ideal location for special events ranging from business meetings and golf tournaments to wedding receptions and fundraisers.
With the full length 18-hole layout, a 9-hole course with par-3 holes ideal for beginners, juniors and families, and a variety of golf instructional programs for players of all ages, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers an enjoyable challenge for everyone – from novices to low handicappers. Regardless of ability, golfers will find Lake Chabot’s signature par-6, 673-yard 18th hole to be one of the most unforgettable finishing holes in the region.
