Environmental Stability & Lake Chabot Golf Course

2025 - Earth Day and Beyond

In preparation for Earth Day 2025 and the Oakland City Championships next month, the Lake Chabot Golf Course have begun installing new flower beds next to our tee boxes to promote and support the pollinators we have at the golf course which include not only bees, but butterflies, moths, beetles, ants, and hummingbirds.

These Pollinators are vital because they contribute to the overall health and biodiversity of the ecosystem, which in turn benefit the course's beauty and sustainability. Along with these new and existing flower beds, the Lake Chabot Golf Course is expanding our support for our native wildflowers and nature zones which in turn support the native wildlife at the golf course and the surrounding Lake Chabot Regional Park area.

Tees For Bees

Join us for a fun community event! Hit clay balls filled with wildflower seeds, learn about local pollinators and birds, and taste local honey at Lake Chabot Golf Course.

Details:

Join Lake Chabot Golf Course, Pollinator Posse & Ohlone Audubon Society at our Tees for Bees event. Lake Chabot Golf Course was recently certified by Audubon International and we are working together to change our golf course from a solely recreational space to critically needed habitat for our local pollinator populations.

Learn about how you can help to bring back these populations of important creatures which keep our open spaces thriving. Pollinator Posse and Ohlone Audubon Society will have educational tables and can answer your questions about which birds and pollinators live in the area, what they need in order to survive and how the golf courses can become the answer to helping save them.

You can do your part by hitting seed balls with local wildflower seeds into the open spaces at the golf course. You will go home with knowledge that you can apply at your home also to create healthy habitat for bees and butterflies. Help us spread the word about saving the bees!

Sweet Serendipity Honey will be on site with samples and honey to buy  Click here for details
